Support and this weeks weigh in

Ladies, it has been great to see the support we can give each other! This week was hoping you all could share with everyone just one or two of the things you are changing to lose weight and get healthier since this is about being healthier as well as losing weight. I am making these changes not just for the competition but the life style change to be healthier for my kiddos, hubby and myself and I hope you all feel the same. Look forward to your tips to help in my journey to get healthy!

  1. Hi ladies! The things I am doing to get healthier and hopefully lose weight are:

    1. Exercise!! (my husband and I are doing Insanity together)
    2. Stop eating sweets so much. (I used to eat them at least daily, if not more than once a day)
    3. My morning cup of extra creamy coffee is gone (when I realized it had more than 100 calories in creamer alone, I realized that probably wasn't the best) and now coffee will be reserved for a special treat.
    4. Focus on eating more fruits and veggies and less processed foods.

In addition to the weight loss, I feel like I have more energy and I feel stronger, just based on the small changes I have already made. It's neat to see how what I eat and what I do as far as exercise can have such a positive effect on my health and body.

  2. I have found that cutting out one "really bad" thing at a time helps me keep my sanity. Also, I allow myself 1 cheat meal per week. This keeps me focused on healthy eating for one, because eating my cheat meal usually makes me feel sicker and reminds me of how healthy eating feels. Secondly, eating the extra cheat meal re-starts fat loss because youre confusing your body to start at a different fat burning rate and gets it out of "starvation mode" that can happen when we diet. One cheat meal per week has always worked for me and I continue to do it to stay sane. Also, its a special meal I can use for special occasions, such as birthdays, or date night, or a church dinner, or when company comes over, etc.

  3. Love the ideas. Thank you ladies. Ha Ha...Insanity is killing me. My calves are killing. I'm not giving up though. Don't give up Gloria!!!! I think I need to work of many things this week. More water...more water...more water. Another thing that I have noticed helps me is to plan our family meals a week in advance. Then I am not caught at the store being tempted to get junk last minute. Huge pit fall.
